SABEC 2027: Short Instructions for Authors

  • Author can choose to work with Word or LaTeX. You can find the most recent template at the links above. Please ignore the names of any mentioned series in the template. The SABEC 2027 proceedings will be published in the IFMBE Conference Proceedings Series, as specified on the conference page.
  • Please note: The usage of these templates is not mandatory. Alternatively, you may either use a blank Word document or the standard LaTeX book class (for monographs) or article class (for individual contributions) and apply the default settings and styles (e.g., for heading styles, lists, footnotes, etc.).
  • Please prepare the chapter in one-column format.
  • Please add under the title the authors’ names, institution, city and country (no street or any other address part, neither a complete private address, should be added there, as this will show up on our webpage). Please check the sample paper in the LaTeX and Word package at the links above.
  • Each chapter should begin with an abstract that summarises its content in no more than 200 words. The abstract will appear online at SpringerLink and be available with unrestricted access to facilitate online searching, using e.g. Google, and allow unregistered users to read the abstract as a teaser for the complete chapter.
  • For authors working with Word: please avoid inserting equations as graphic files. Use the Math function of Word 2003 or 2007, MathType or Microsoft Equation Editor to create your equations.
  • Please include all affiliations and e-mail addresses (or at least the email address of the corresponding author) in the chapter you submit to the book editors. The e-mail addresses will be used by SpringerNature to provide authors with a personal account where they can download a free copy of the eBook upon publication.
  • Permissions for any material authors want to reuse from previous publication should be obtained by the corresponding publisher they want to reuse. Usually, authors can GET PERMISSION online by using RightsLink http://www.copyright.com/publishers/rightslink-scientific/. In rare cases, they need to contact the publisher directly. Moreover, Springer is a STM signatory publisher. If authors wish to reuse materials published by another signatory publisher, they can check the corresponding guideline for permission at https://www.stm-assoc.org/intellectual-property/permissions/permissions-guidelines/
  • Springer self-archiving policy for non-open access book and chapters can be found at https://www.springernature.com/gp/open-research/policies/book-policies. If this book is NOT an open access one, please check the policies for self-archiving of books and chapters published via the subscription route. Archiving of pre-print on a recognized server, up to one chapter per volume from the same author, is allowed for proceedings.

Your submission should include

  1. PDF of the paper
  2. A compressed zip archive containing Word or LaTeX files (also .bib) and image files (please include them also if images are included in the Word file, we may need the original jpeg of figures). Please remove any older file/alternative version.
  3. Signed Licence to Publish (LTP). If the conference uses Meteor (Conference Submission system provided by Springer), you can sign the license in the system. If the conference does not use Meteor, the SABEC 2027 organisers will provide you in due time with this document. Please be sure that exactly the same information (authors name and order, corresponding author detail) are shown on the license and on the paper. Please sign the license per hand and scan it/save it as PDF. All pages should be scanned and saved in one document.

Under exceptional circumstances, the Scientific Committee may permit virtual presentations. However, in-person presentation is required for inclusion of the abstract in the Book of Abstracts and of the full paper in the conference proceedings, subject to the applicable publication and registration requirements.
